CESBA Western RegionThe CESBA Western Region stretches from Windsor in the south to Avon Maitland in the north to Hamilton and Halton districts in the east. We have the distinction of being the only CESBA region that meets regularly, three times a year. We hope that through our report, we can encourage the other CESBA regions to appreciate the many benefits that come from getting to know each other and each other’s adult, alternative and continuing education programs as well as we do in the Western Region. On average, 30 members representing each of the public and Catholic districts in our region attend each meeting and eagerly share their programs, advice and expertise to help all of us provide the best programs and services that we can for our learners. We are fortunate to have a Ministry regional office in London and, therefore, the attendance of Education Officers Phil Hedges and Johanne Lapensée-Crimmins at each of our meetings. We strike our agenda by members e-mailing items to me in advance of the meeting. I send out the draft agenda so that everyone comes prepared both to listen and to speak to various items. This year we have also been honoured to have Jonathan Brown from the Ministry’s Adult Unit attending our regular meetings. Regular Meeting - Feb 16,2007After a week of finger crossing about the weather, Friday, February 16 dawned sunny, if cold, and allowed CESBA Western Region members to get to the G. A. Wheable Centre for Adult Education in London for our regular meeting. CESBA members may view the report on this meeting. Committee Members
