Membership

The Ontario Association of Adult and Continuing Education School Board Administrators (CESBA) is a non-profit corporation registered in Ontario. (See All About CESBA). Any individual who subscribes to the object of the corporation is eligible to apply for membership in CESBA

CESBA's object is to...promote and advance the cause of adult and continuing education.

Most CESBA members hold leadership positions in adult and continuing education programs offered by school boards in Ontario. Usually people join CESBA, in conjunction with the registration process for one of the two CESBA Conferences held in the spring and fall of each year. For information about upcoming conferences see Spring or Fall Conference Planning. You may, of course, join CESBA at any time by submitting the completed application form in English or French provided here in Adobe PDF format (13 KB) along with your payment by fax or mail.

Members Only

The purpose of the Members Only page is to provide a convenient way for information to be shared with CESBA Members. On a regular basis, CESBA will post information and reports on this page. Some examples include Issues & Actions updates, summaries of key decisions made at Board meetings, as well as reports on findings of CESBA surveys and other project reports.

Any CESBA member in good standing may register for access to the Members Only section of this web site. If you are unsure of your status as a CESBA Member, or if you have any questions about this service, contact CESBA by selecting "Contact Us" from the About CESBA drop-down menu at the top of this page.

Main Benefits

CESBA members
  • Have the right to vote at the Annual General Meeting, usually held on the Friday morning of the Spring Conference. (election of officers and board members, adoption of annual reports, resolutions, etc.)

  • Are eligible to seek election to an Executive or Board of Directors position.

  • Are eligible to serve on and participate in the work of CESBA Committees.


  • Receive regular updates from the Executive on the tracking of Issues & Actions identified at the annual meeting and conferences.
  • Receive notices of upcoming conferences, meetings and events related to adult and continuing education. Conferences afford members the opportunity to network with colleagues, hear about leading-edge developments and problem solve important challenges on key issues in a collaborative format.
  • Are kept abreast of changes and developments that affect adult and continuing education. The CESBA Executive remains in close contact with key government decision-makers from several ministries and departments. Late breaking developments and ongoing consultations are shared with members.
  • Can influence the direction of policy developments related to adult and continuing education, by keeping informed and participating in the process.
