ABOUT CESBA

CESBA is a professional learning association that advocates for Adult & Continuing Education delivered by school boards within Ontario's diverse communities.

CESBA represents the broad spectrum of adult and continuing education offered by Public, Catholic & Francophone School Boards within Ontario. These programs are funded by government departments (both federal and provincial) as well as by individual and business fee-paying clients. CESBA itself receives core and project funding to coordinate the work of school board Literacy & Basic Skills (LBS) programs of the Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities.

CESBA, an Ontario incorporated non-profit organization, is governed by a Board of Directors elected at the annual general meeting. Our Conference Planning Committee organizes two conferences each year: The CESBA Fall Conference (early December) and the CESBA Spring Conference (late April or early May). We hope that you find our site useful and interesting.

CESBA's bylaws set out the rules of membership, election of officers and board members and describe the operational principles of the association.  The bylaws can be dowloaded here.

School Boards are key players in the continuum of education, skills and employment program options available to their communities. CESBA is an umbrella group representing adult and continuing education departments of school boards across Ontario.

Through innovative partnerships and strong connections to their communities, adult education services and programs create pathways to employment and further training and education required to meet career goals.

School Boards are an important part of Ontario’s Employment and Training System. Through their Adult & Continuing Education Departments and Affiliates, School Boards deliver employment and training services to hundreds of thousands of Ontarians every year.
