CESBA Committees

  

This page provides a brief description of each CESBA committee along with a link to further information.



CESBA Committees are:

Adult Credit & PLAR

Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) identifies and recognizes achievement of adults since leaving school. The CESBA PLAR committee identifies issues as they relate to the operation and delivery of credit programming in Ontario schools.

Adolescent Alternative Education

Through The Adolescent Alternative Education Committee of CESBA, administrators and practitioners share problems and solutions in the delivery of alternative programs to Ontario youth.

Conference Planning

Volunteers on Conference Planning Committee conceive, plan, and organize CESBA's two annual conferences. It is assisted in its work by the CESBA office. Brenda King, CESBA Executive Director supports the work of the committee.

ESL/FSL/LINC

The ESL/FSL/LINC Committee exists as a medium for ESL (English as a Second Language), FLS (French as a Second Language), LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) School Board Administrators from across the province to network with one another regarding best practices and areas of mutual interest within the field of second language teaching.

International Languages

The International Languages Committee of CESBA is a partnership with an outside organization, International Languages Educators' Association. Their website may be accessed at http://www.ilea.ca.

LBS

The CESBA LBS Committee represents the work of the school boards in Ontario to deliver literacy and basic skills in their communities.

International Education

The CESBA International Education Committee explores possibilities for province-wide collaboration among Ontario schoold boards active in the international arena.

Personal Support Worker

The CESBA Personal Support Worker Committee monitors the provincial certification process for PSW training, aiming to maintain a program which remains current.

Affaires Francophones

The comité identifies the priorities of the francophone community and brings their perspective on planning and delivery of French programs to the CESBA executive.

Employment and Skills Development

The Employment and Skills Development Committee promotes and advocates for school board programs for adults that create pathways to employment and further training and education required to meet career goals.
